PLUGIN DOCUMENTATION
This is Magento 1 documentation for Sello’s extension ChannelConnector that is used to connect your Magento 1 webshop with Sello and the marketplaces Sello supports. We will go through all necessary steps of installing the plugin in your webshop, pushing your products to Sello for a selected marketplace and looking at how orders are managed in Magento 1 for the marketplaces.
You can combine the extension with the Sello platform if needed. This is great when you need add additional product information like attributes, texts or if you want to modify your pricing of the products for you marketplaces. The extension will send all product data to Sello and the Sello platform will push the data from your Sello account to the desired marketplaces.

HOW TO SETUP
You will need to have the following for setting up Magento 1, Sello and a marketplace. First of all you will need a Magento 1 webshop, then you will need to register a Sello account and choose what marketplace you want to sell at, the last thing will be to installing the ChannelConnector extension for Sello and connecting Magento 1 to your Sello account which is connected to your e-commerce marketplace.
REGISTER A SELLO ACCOUNT
Go to www.sello.io and register your Sello account – it is totally free. There are a couple of steps when registering, you add your account details, choose what marketplace to sell at and add your URL (web address) to your webshop.
When you register a Sello account you can choose one marketplace to sell at – If you want to add more marketplace to use with Sello you can do this afterwards from you settings page in Sello – See the Sello help portal.
INSTALL CHANNELCONNECTOR PLUGIN
There are two ways to install the ChannelConnector extension for Magento 1. Either you download the extension and upload it to your Magento with FTP and install it manually in Magento. Or you connect Magento 1 to Magento connect manager and download the extension through Magento marketplace.
  1. Connect your Magento 1 to Magento connect manager
  2. Download the ChannelConnector extension
  3. Install the extension through Magento connect manager
CONNECT CHANNELCONNECTOR TO SELLO
When the ChannelConnector extension is installed you need to connect your Magento (ChannelConnector) to your Sello account. This is really easy to do in Magento 1 admin.
  1. Choose the menu for ChannelConnector
  2. Add your Sello API key (this is how you generate one)
  3. Click the Save button
CONFIGURE CHANNELCONNECTOR
When you have installed the Magento 1 extension then it’s time to synchronize your sale channels, categories, properties (attributes) and such from Sello to your Magento. Before this step is completed your Magento will not be able to push products correctly for Sello and your marketplaces.
SETUP GENERAL
The general tab in the ChannelConnector extension for Magento controls how fast your internal Magento product sync queue (cron) operates, you can also setup what store view is used as default store.
  1. Login to your Magento 1 admin
  2. Click the ChannelConnector menu button
  3. Choose the tab for General
  4. Set your preferred settings
  5. Click the Save button
SYNC CHANNELS
This should be your first step before you can start working with your ChannelConnector extension for Magento 1. You need to load all your sale channels (marketplaces) from Sello to your store. Remember to repeat this step when adding new marketplaces for your Sello account.
  1. Login to your Magento 1 admin
  2. Click the ChannelConnector menu button
  3. Choose the tab for Channels
  4. Click the Sync channels button
SETUP CARRIERS
The carries mapping for ChannelConnector is used for marketplace order handling in your Magento 1. When you start selling on marketplaces Sello will create the order in your Magento. The carrier mapping connects your Magento carrier to a carrier in Sello, this is used for reporting your shipping carrier and tracking number back to the marketplace for the order that you ship from  Magento.
  1. Login to your Magento 1 admin
  2. Click the ChannelConnector menu button
  3. Choose the tab for Carriers
  4. Click Sync carriers button
  5. Click Add mapping button
  6. Choose a Magento carrier
  7. Match the ChannelConnector carrier to your Magento choice
  8. Click Save button
SYNC CATEGORIES
You need to sync all the category hierarchies from Sello for your channels (marketplace) before you can start mapping your Magento categories to the marketplace categories.
  1. Login to your Magento 1 admin
  2. Click the ChannelConnector menu button
  3. Choose the tab for Categories
  4. Click the Sync categories button
SYNC PROPERTIES
You need to sync all the properties (product attributes) from Sello for your channels (marketplace) before you can start mapping your Magento product attributes to the marketplace attributes.
  1. Login to your Magento 1 admin
  2. Click the ChannelConnector menu button
  3. Choose the tab for Properties
  4. Click the Sync properties button
WORKING WITH PRODUCTS
Products are exported from Magento 1 through the ChannelConnector extension to Sello if something is changed on the products in Magento. In the ”Working with products” documentation we will go through how to map your product attributes to Sello’s, how to map your categories to the marketplace categories and how you choose to activate a product for a marketplace.
MAP CATEGORIES
You need to map your product categories in Magento to marketplace categories if you want to push products to Sello and your marketplaces with categories. This can be complemented in Sello afterwards if necessary.
  1. Login to your Magento 1 admin
  2. Click the Catalog menu button
  3. Choose the menu for Categories
  4. Choose the category you want to map
  5. Click on the tab for ChannelConnector
  6. Choose the marketplace categories you want this category to be mapped to.
  7. Click the Save button
MAP ATTRIBUTES
You need to map your product attributes in Magento to Sello’s attributes, this is important because many marketplaces require you to set certain attributes when exporting products or if you are using variation products in different colors or sizes.
  1. Login to your Magento 1 admin
  2. Click the Catalog menu button
  3. Choose the menu for Attributes
  4. Choose the attribute you want to map
  5. Find the ChannelConnector section
  6. Choose the attribute (property) you want this attribute to be mapped to.
  7. Click the Save button
EXPORT PRODUCT
With the ChannelConnector extension you can activate/export products to a marketplace the same way as you are editing your products in Magento. Products will be automatically created in Sello if they are updated, but they will not be activated for your marketplaces by default. This needs to be done by choosing to activate them for a marketplace in ChannelConnector (Magento).
  1. Login to your Magento 1 admin
  2. Click the Catalog menu button
  3. Choose the menu for Products
  4. Choose to Edit the product you want to activate
  5. Click on the tab for ChannelConnector
  6. Add your information about the product (category, active/inactive, specific price, etc.)
  7. Click the Save button
MASS EXPORT PRODUCTS
With the ChannelConnector extension you can mass activate/export the products to a marketplace with only a few clicks. This is good if you choose to export a lot of products for a marketplace without wanting to edit them one by one.
  1. Login to your Magento 1 admin
  2. Click the Catalog menu button
  3. Choose the menu for Products
  4. Select the products you want to update
  5. Choose the select menu Actions and Active on all markets
  6. Click the Submit button
WORKING WITH ORDERS
When orders are placed on your marketplace you choose to sell at Sello will automatically import the order from your marketplace into Sello – Sello will then create this order in your Magento order page and deduct the sold item on your inventory stock in Magento. You can choose to use your Magento order page for managing your orders or you can login to your Sello account and manage your orders directly in Sello.
HANDLE ORDER
When you want to mark your marketplace order as shipped to notify the customer and the marketplace you sell at that you have fulfilled the order you just do as you are used to. Find your order, handle it and then change the order status to completed. This will push a API request to Sello and the order will be marked as Delivered in Sello – Sello will then forward this request to your marketplace to deliver it in their platform.
  1. Login to your Magento 1 admin
  2. Click the Sales menu button
  3. Choose the menu for Orders
  4. Find your marketplace order (marked with payment ChannelConnector)
  5. Administrate your order as usual
TECHNICAL SUPPORT AND BUG REPORTING
All Magento 1 webshops are not created equal and this sometimes cause difficulties with getting the ChannelConnector plugin to work properly. We have tried to use the most modular code setup for the plugin as possible to make it work on a very broad spectrum of Magento setups – But sometimes it is not enough to make things work for all webshops.
