HOW TO SETUP
You will need to have the following for setting up Shopify, Sello and a marketplace. First of all you will need a Shopify webshop, then you will need to register a Sello account and choose what marketplace you want to sell at, the last thing will be to installing the ChannelConnector app for Sello and connecting Shopify to your Sello account which is connected to your e-commerce marketplace.
REGISTER A SELLO ACCOUNT
Go to www.sello.io and register your Sello account – it is totally free. There are a couple of steps when registering, you add your account details, choose what marketplace to sell at and add your URL (web address) to your webshop.
When you register a Sello account you can choose one marketplace to sell at – If you want to add more marketplace to use with Sello you can do this afterwards from you settings page in Sello – See the Sello help portal.
INSTALL CHANNELCONNECTOR APP
To install the ChannelConnector Shopify App for Sello you need to go to a specific app page for our Shopify App. You then install our App with entering your special Shopify web address – Follow these instructions.
- Go to: https://shopify-ui.sello.now.sh/
- Enter your Shopify address to the input field
- Click the Install button
WORKING WITH PRODUCTS
Working with products in Shopify for Sello and your marketplace is as simple as it gets. You do not have any Shopify interface for managing your marketplace because all product management is done in the Sello platform. When you install and connect ChannelConnector to Shopify for your Sello account we will export all Shopify products to Sello where you then will do all product management for your marketplace.
EXPORT YOUR PRODUCTS
When connecting the ChannelConnector App to Sello we will export all your Shopify products to Sello and create them in the Sello platform for your account. When products are changed in Shopify we will only update the stock on the product in Sello. All product management for your marketplace is done in the Sello platform and the Sello inventory page. When you create new products in Shopify they will be created automatically in the Sello inventory platform.
WORKING WITH ORDERS
When orders are placed on your marketplace you choose to sell at Sello will automatically import the order from your marketplace into Sello – Sello will then create this order in your Shopify order page and deduct the sold item on your inventory stock in Shopify. You can choose to use your Shopify order page for managing your orders or you can login to your Sello account and manage your orders directly in the Sello platform.
When Sello create your marketplace order in your Shopify you can start managing your new order. Orders are sent to Shopify within a few minutes after Sello imports them from your marketplace. Order management for your marketplace orders are done as usual in your Shopify order list – However you can choose to do your order management directly in your Sello account.
- Login to your Shopify webshop
- Go to the page Orders (All orders)
- Select a order in the order list
- Add your tracking number if needed
- Choose to fulfill your order
When order is managed the ChannelConnector App will push this information to your Sello account and Sello will forward it to your marketplaces.
TECHNICAL SUPPORT AND BUG REPORTING
All Shopify webshops are not created equal and this sometimes cause difficulties with getting the ChannelConnector app to work properly. We have tried to use the most modular code setup for the app as possible to make it work on a very broad spectrum of Shopify setups – But sometimes it is not enough to make things work for all webshops.
Sello offers free support and technical troubleshooting for all our apps / modules / plugins – If you find a bug or you are having trouble to get the plugin to work property with your shop we can assist you in trying to resolve the issue – We have many years of experience in working with these webshop platforms and we can probably help you solve the issue or come with a qualified recommendation in resolving the issue if you want to work with our IT-technicians.
